Letter From the Editors

When we launched the Debevoise Women’s Review, we set out to create a space in which we could have an honest and frank dialogue about the issues women face in the workforce and in the world more broadly. Although conversations around gender and diversity are prevalent in all areas of life, we continue to be surprised by the extent to which the debate over women’s issues—old and new—dominates the news cycle.

Now more than ever, we think it is critical to harness the passion driving the conversations across the country’s dining tables and conference rooms and to tap into the energy that has inspired women around the world to join marches, run for political office and agitate for change within their own communities and workplaces. It is an exciting time to be part of the conversation, but if history has any lesson for us, it is that the work is constant and the dialogue must be continued long after the headlines fade.

Through the Debevoise Women’s Review we hope to create meaningful opportunities for women and men to engage in a discussion around gender equality. The site features original stories relevant to professional women and their allies, including interviews with trailblazing women, essays inspired by personal experiences, advice pieces for women navigating their careers—and more. If there are topics you would like to see us cover or if you have an interest in contributing, please contact us at women@debevoise.com.
